Messina is a window on the Strait, where Ionian and Tyrrhenian Sea melt each other, located in north-eastern Sicily, Italy.\u00a0<\/span>Messina is about 1.5 hours from Catania airport, and is connected with it by bus or by train. Catania airport is the fourth Italian airport for passenger traffic and has excellent international connections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Known for its stunning views of the sea and its beautiful sunny beaches, the city is situated on the Strait of Messina, which separates Sicily from mainland Italy, and is surrounded by hills and mountains that offer breath-taking panoramas of the Mediterranean.\u00a0National Geographic has classified \u2018Capo Peloro\u2019 beach, where the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas meet, as the best Italian beach for views. The Natural Reserve of Capo Peloro is a protected area by the Sicilian Region.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

In addition to its natural beauty, Messina is also known for its rich cultural heritage, which <\/span>
includes a variety of historic monuments and landmarks, such as the Duomo di Messina, a stunning cathedral that features intricate baroque architecture and impressive works of art, the Church of Santissima Annunziata dei Catalani, the botanical gardens and the wonderful Sanctuary of Dinnammare<\/span>. <\/span>
The bell tower of the Cathedral of Messina contains the biggest and most complex mechanical and astronomical clock of the world. The city is also home to a variety of museums, galleries, and theatres that showcase the best of Sicilian art and culture.<\/span><\/p>

The Workshop will take place in the exibition halls of Mu.Me. (Regional Interdisciplinary Museum of Messina).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Regional Interdisciplinary Museum of Messina (Mu.Me.)<\/a> <\/strong>is an art museum located on the northern coast of the city of Messina<\/a>, Sicily<\/a>, Italy<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

MuMe illustrates the development of art and culture in Messina from the 12th to the 18th centuries, with outstanding figures such as the renowned artists Andrea della Robbia<\/a>, Antonello da Messina<\/a>, Girolamo Alibrandi<\/a>, Caravaggio (Michelangelo Merisi)<\/a>, and Polidoro da Caravaggio<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The building housing the museum was originally the Barbera-Mellinghoff spinning-mill, a late 19th-century construction chosen after the great earthquake of 1908 to be the site of the future museum, which was refurbished and finally opened in 1922. Over the years the building has been considerably restructured in order to guarantee the exhibits the best possible conditions for their preservation; the last major work was carried out in the 1980s. A new large complex of buildings near the present site was completed in 2010s.<\/span><\/p>\n

The museum is located approximately 4 km from the city center and is easily accessible by taking the tramway (line 28), which runs along the waterfront.
