THE PROJECT
The C.E.R.I.S.I. project, for which a 22 million euro investment has been made, arises from the cohesion and the exchanges between four sections of scientific research at the University of Messina: Building Sciences and Technology, Geotechinics, naval-Mechanical Engineering and finally Sciences of the Earth.

AREAS AND LABORATORIES
Earth Sciences
The Earth Sciences laboratory of the C.E.R.I.S.I. project it is made up of two sections that have a common denominator in the environmental and territorial analysis: the geochemical section and the geomorphological one.
NAVAL MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The C.E.R.I.S.I. center of excellence it is in fact a constellation of laboratories among which there are three more specifically for industrial engineering: laboratory for testing large structures; mechanical testing laboratory; non-destructive testing and failure analysis laboratory.
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
The C.E.R.I.S.I. section dedicated to Geotechnics, it represents, on the national and international scene, a laboratory of excellence, equipped with all the equipment for standard tests for the physical and mechanical characterization of soils, but also with sophisticated equipment for carrying out tests under cyclic loading conditions .
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
The Construction Science and Technology area has created EUROLAB, a reference laboratory for the planning and execution of special tests in the field of structural and seismic engineering
