LORENZO CARNEVALE

Lorenzo CARNEVALE is a Tenure Track Researcher (RTT) at the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Earth Sciences (MIFT) at the University of Messina (Italy). He was a Type A Fixed-Term Researcher (RTDa) at the same university.

He obtained his PhD from the Department of Engineering at the University of Reggio Calabria (Italy) in May 2020. He was a visiting PhD student at the Distributed Systems Group at the Vienna University of Technology (Austria) between March and September 2018, hosted by Prof. Schahram Dustdar. 

He was a visiting researcher at the STACK team at the Inria institute in Nantes (France) between June and September 2024, hosted by Dr. Daniel Balouek.


He is a lecturer in Algorithms and Data Structures, Computer Networks, and Bio-Inspired Artificial Intelligence at the University of Messina (Italy).

He was a visiting lecturer at the School of Computing at Newcastle University (United Kingdom) in 2024. 


He is a member of the CINI InfoLife Laboratory.
He is a member of the CINI Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems Laboratory.
He is a member of IFIP Working Group 12.9 on computational intelligence.
He is associate editor for Frontiers in Robotics and AI.

He was Co-Chair of the Scientific Committee of the 16th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computing (UCC 2023).
