THE CONFERENCE
The International Symposium on the Photochemistry and Photophysics of Coordination Compounds (ISPPCC) is the world leading conference dealing with light-induced properties of coordination compounds. Since its first editions in the seventies of the last century, ISPPCC has been the seminal symposium where important scientific innovations have been introduced, involving both fundamental and applicative aspects of science. Among others, basic theories and experiments on photoinduced charge separation and energy migration – even in supramolecular species-, ultrafast spectroscopies, photoimaging, bio-oriented research (including sensing and theranostic issues) are some of the topics which received decisive inputs during the symposia. ISPPCC has contributed to develop solar energy conversion (for example, dye-sensitized solar cells and artificial photosynthesis), light emitting diodes for illumination, photocatalysis, sensors based on photo-active processes, photoinduced theranostics. ISPPCC has also been the venues for broad interactions and information exchanges among researchers coming from all over the world, stimulating long-standing collaborations and friendships. Space is traditionally devoted to young researchers to present their work and interact with the most experienced leaders in the field. The 26th Edition will continue the tradition of ISPPCC meetings, collecting world-leading researchers developing advanced fields of research, including – among others – design of novel compounds and materials with made-to-order photoinduced properties, natural and artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, and light-induced therapies.
