Project Leader Maria Francesca Milazzo is an assistant professor of Chemical Engineering (Chemical Plants) and is the project coordinator and the team leader of the partner “University of Messina (UM)” for the SPRINCE project. Her main research interests are in “Risk analysis in the chemical industry and the transport of hazardous materials”, “Environmental risk assessment” and “Safety & reliability”. She is experienced project manager in the European Project SyNaRMa “Development of an Information System for Natural Risk Management in the Mediterranean” (2007) and in the National Research Program (PRIN 2008) “Analysis of potentially critical scenarios on industrial installations and the infrastructure of Eastern Sicily and of health risks associated with explosive eruptions of Etna”. She has about 60 publications (about 25 papers in international journals).
Team Leader Vesna Spasojevic Brkic is the team leader of the partner “Faculty of Mechanical Engineering University of Belgrade (FME UB)” for the SPRINCE project. She is a member of several Serbian as well international professional organizations and serves on several editorial boards of international journals. She has been involved in many national and international projects concerning production and risk management problems, energy efficiency, ergonomics etc. She has 5 books and courses written, over 80 scientific publications, over 20 publications in international journals with impact factors and over 80 contracts and industrial projects (large part of them in the cranes field).
Team Leader David Valis is a full professor of reliability and safety, Ph.D. Eng. and deputy head of department. He has more than 10-year work experience in the area of dependability and risk/safety assessment. He has been working on University of Defence and Technical University of Liberec where he develops both science and teaching in the above-mentioned fields.
