HOW TO REACH THE CONFERENCE VENUE:

Palazzo Pupillo, Piazza Archimede 11, Syracuse (Ortigia)

The pre-vent workshop will take place in Ortigia, Syracuse, while the main conference will be held in Noto. These are two different cities, about 40 km apart. The workshop will start at 9 AM on Monday, the 16th. Please note that attendance to the workshop is limited, we can only guarantee 40 extra seats.

The closest and more convenient airport for both conference locations is Catania Fontanarossa Airport. From Catania airport to Ortigia, there is a direct bus (about a 1-hour ride) provided by Interbus. You can check the bus schedule by selecting a date in July (the schedule for September is not available yet, but it’s unlikely to change substantially). If you plan to spend a day in Catania and travel to Syracuse the next day, you may take the same bus (from a different stop) or take a train via Trenitalia

From Catania airport to Catania central station: Bus Autolinee Urbane AMT “ALIBUS” – toll-free number 800 018 696 – www.amt.ct.it. First journey from the airport at 4.40 (regular journeys every 25 minutes until 24.00). Cost of the ticket 4 euros, you can pay on board. 

From Catania to Syracuse by train: Take a train to Syracuse (1hr – 1.5hr depending on the train) – cost under 10 euros. You can check timetable and purchase your ticket here https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html. Walking distance from the train station to the venue: 20 minutes. 

From Catania centre to Syracuse by bus: There is a bus connecting Catania centre (several stops) to Syracuse approximately every 30 minutes, the bus makes several stops in Syracuse, including one in Ortigia.  You can check the timetable and purchase your ticket in advance here: https://www.interbus.it/travel-plan/solution.php?t=0.
