UPON 2026 – Young Researcher Awards

To encourage and recognize the contributions by early-career scientists, three awards will be presented at the UPON 2026 Conference:

• Best Paper Award
• Best Oral Presentation Award
• Best Poster Award

These awards are open to PhD students and early-career researchers presenting their work at the conference. Submissions and presentations will be evaluated by the conference scientific committee based on scientific quality, originality, and clarity of presentation.

The winners will be announced during the conference closing session.

Please note: 

• An “early-career researcher” is a researcher in any capacity that has obtained his PhD not earlier than three years before the beginning of the UPON2026 conference;
• Candidacies can be presented by sending an e-mail to  upon26@unime.it with the subject “Young Researcher Awards”. The e-mail must contain the name and full address of the person that will be presenting (either by giving a talk or presenting a poster) and  the title of the contribution submitted to the conference.
• Candidacies must be submitted before the end of August 2026.
