Venue and accomodation

The conference will be held in the central building of the University of Messina (Rectorate).  

Detalied information about the venue, the accomodation and travel information to reach Taormina wil be available soon.

Please note:

• The closest airports to reach Messina are the Catania International airport (CTA) and the Tito Minniti Airport in Reggio Calabria (REG).

  The Catania International airport (CTA)  is the larger of the two with well established services for the transfer to and from Messina.

  The Tito Minniti Airport in Reggio Calabria (REG)  is geograhically closer, but it is smaller and it is situated across the Stretto di Messina (Strait of Messina). 

  Overall, the Catania International Airport is the “easyest” choice. Detailed information on how to reach Messina from the Catania International Aitrport can be found in the “TRAVEL INFORMATION” tab in the top menu of this page.

• Book your flight and hotel accomodation as early as possible! If you wait too much, it might be difficult to find a convenient accomodation at a reasonable price. However, take some time to consider the possibility of adding a couple of days before or after the conference to enjoy Sicily in September! If you can, consider the possibility of renting a car: this will expand both the range of places you can visit (outside conference hours!) and the accomodation opportunities.
