Katia Arena

La Dott.ssa Katia Arena si è laureata in Chimica e Tecnologia Farmaceutiche presso l’Università̀ degli Studi di Messina il 10 Maggio 2016. Durante il suo dottorato ha effettuato un periodo di ricerca presso il CIAL (Instituto de Investigaciòn en Ciencias de la Alimentaciòn) -Dipartimento “Bioactividad y Analisis de Alimentos”, Madrid, Spagna. Nel 2021 ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in “Scienze Chimiche” presso l’Università̀ degli Studi di Messina, discutendo una tesi dal titolo “Foodomics: LC×LC Approach in Modern Food Science”. È attualmente ricercatore di Chimica degli Alimenti presso l’Università̀ degli Studi di Messina. La sua attività di ricerca è incentrata sull’implementazione di sistemi di cromatografia liquida bidimensionale di tipo “Comprehensive” accoppiati alla spettrometria di massa per rivelare la composizione di matrici alimentari e naturali complesse.
È co-autrice di 19 articoli scientifici su riviste e di 30 presentazioni orali/poster a congressi nazionali e internazionali; inoltre è risultata vincitrice di un “Best Poster Award” con un poster dal titolo: “Production and comprehensive characterization by LC×LC-PDA/MS of aqueous phases from pyrolysis of different biomasses”.
La dott.ssa Katia Arena è guest editor della rivista scientifica Molecules (MDPI).
